About Me

I’m Lasse, a 21-year-old media studies student at the University of Vienna with a passion for exploring the overlooked dimensions of global politics. This blog is my way of going beyond the headlines – to tell stories from the edges of power, across continents, and even space.

Mainstream media often circles the same hotspots. Like many, I’m saturated with daily updates on Donald Trump or the ongoing wars in Ukraine and the Middle East. Here, I aim to shift the focus: to underreported legal debates, emerging environmental frontlines, and the geopolitics of the future.

Outside of writing, I’m into dodgeball and golf – and I want to try every sport I can. I find peace playing guitar (mediocrely), going out with friends, and listening to music that, admittedly, no one else seems to enjoy. Lately, I’ve been diving into photography, videography, and design  you’ll see some of that on the blog’s Instagram.

I grew up in southern France, moved to Germany at 13, started university in Málaga, and am now finishing my degree in Vienna. I speak four languages (German, French, English, and Spanish)  three of which are already part of this blog, with French to come. I’ve interned at ORF (Austrian Broadcasting Company) and will be competing in this year’s European Universities Debating Championship.

Feel free to reach out  with feedback, questions, or story ideas. I’d love to hear from you.
